National City Family Twilight Beach Party features lovable cartoon character and movie under the stars

Everyone’s favorite cartoon character from Bikini Bottom is coming to the Louisville Zoo Aug. 8 and 9.

On Aug. 8 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., SpongeBob SquarePants will be visiting to help the Zoo Crew host a one-of-a-kind event at Calistoga Splash Park at Glacier Run. The Family Twilight Beach Party, presented by National City, begins with a fun and educational scavenger hunt that can be redeemed for a prize. There will also be a hula hoop contest, Palm Tree Plunge and Hawaiian Hustle dance off. And be sure to bring your camera, because SpongeBob SquarePants will be available to have his photo taken with guests.

The party will be followed by a fun family movie under the stars in the Oasis Field. For more details and the movie title, call (502) 238-5448. Admission to the Zoo is just $5 per person after 5 p.m. on Aug. 8 compliments of National City. Members enter free as a benefit of their membership. (Zoo exhibits are open until 9 p.m.)

SpongeBob will also be at the Zoo the next day, Aug. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for special meet and greets. So be sure to come back and bring your camera!
