FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tracking
a T-Rex
New 4-D ride movie breathes life back into
an extinct species
Now after guests visit the Zoo’s new Dinosaurs! exhibit featuring 16 animatronic robotic dinosaurs, they can
continue the experience by venturing to Dino Island at the Zoo’s 4-D
ride theater.
Put on your special 3-D glasses, buckle your
seat belt and hang on, because in this ride you join the Earth Science
Team to capture “Tony,” the only remaining Tyrannosaurus Rex in the
world before a volcano erupts and wipes out all life on the island. It’s
a perilous race against time as lava flows, cliffs break away and Tony
falls into a deep and fast whirlpool. Can we save Tony (and ourselves)
from extinction?
The 4-D ride theater features 3-D projection,
surround-sound audio and exciting special effects that fully immerse
audiences with moving seats, and lots of surprises like wind, water
squirts, leg ticklers and more. It’s a movie. It’s a ride. It’s a whole
new dimension!
The Dino Island 4-D ride has a special ticket
price of $4 for Zoo Members and $5 for visitors. Ride Again tickets are
also available for $3 and must be used on the same day as the first
ride.
The SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D Ride™
is also still currently running at the 4-D theater. The 4-D ride theater
is open daily from 10:30 a.m. until 30 minutes before the Zoo closes.
Because the ride involves dramatic sounds, movement and bright lights,
it is recommend for those 3 years of age and older. Riders should also
be at least 36 inches tall.
For more information on other fun things to do
at the Louisville Zoo, visit

*Note: There may be times the 4-D ride is not
operating due to weather or other circumstances.
