Floyd
Memorial Women’s Services presents
Baby giraffe naming contest
On January 11, a male Masai giraffe was born at the Louisville Zoo. Now
you can help name him by participating in the Zoo’s Baby Giraffe naming
contest presented by Floyd Memorial Women’s Services.
The naming contest begins today, April 12,
and entries must be received by midnight EST on Sunday, April 25.
There is no purchase necessary to enter.
Louisville Zoo will select three names from the
names submitted during the contest period April 12, 2010 – April 25,
2010. The public will then be invited to vote for the winner by
means of a kiosk placed on the Zoo’s front plaza April 30, 2010 – May
16, 2010. Votes can be placed by making a contribution via coins or
bills into the slot representing a favorite name. The name with the
highest total donations will be named the winner and announced on May
20, 2010. All proceeds support the Zoo’s efforts to provide
excellent care for animals, a great experience for our guests and a
better future for all living things.
The person submitting the winning name will be
the grand prizewinner and will receive a prize package valued at $810.
It includes $500 Fly Bucks from Frontier Airlines, $50 Calistoga Artisan
Sandwich gift card, plush stuffed animal and a behind-the-scenes tour of
Zoo’s giraffe exhibit.
Those submitting the two alternate names will
receive alternate prize packages valued at $80—that includes $50
Calistoga Artisan Sandwich gift card, a plush stuffed animal and a
fair-trade item from the Zoo gift shop.
