Meet
Your Best Friend at the Zoo
With special guests Garfield and Odie
Saturday, September 25
Deciding to bring a pet into your home is a big
decision but it can certainly be a rewarding one. The Louisville Zoo
will partner with The Kentucky Humane Society and Louisville Metro
Animal Services to host a unique pet adoption event at the Zoo on
Saturday, September 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Both agencies will be on
hand with a number of pets that can be adopted on the spot by those
meeting the necessary criteria. All pets will be spay/neutered,
micro-chipped and current on vaccinations. A display of pet-friendly
cars and accessories will also be at the Zoo courtesy of Sam Swope Auto
Group who is sponsoring the event.
Inside the Zoo special guest stars Garfield and
Odie will be available for photos and a meet and greet in the Zoo Vision
building.
Visitors will be able to learn how Zookeepers
use training and enrichment activities to help keep the exotic animals
at the Zoo healthy and active. The Kentucky Humane Society and Metro
Animal Services will present training demonstrations and helpful tips to
use with household pets on the Meta Zoo Stage at 11 a.m. Noon and 1 p.m.
The pet adoption portion of the event will take
place in the Zoo’s bus parking lot and will not require Zoo admission.
Garfield and Odie and all activities taking place inside the Zoo are
